Inspired by a love of layers, colour relationships and a fascination with how paint can be manipulated, my contemporary paintings won't fail to add a striking splash of interest to any room.

My painting practice has has spanned over 15 years. I have most often worked with oil on canvas, but have recently been drawn to capturing snapshots of the local countryside in paint, so currently use acrylic for its immediacy.

I am influenced by Scottish painters and their incredible use of colour and energy in their work. My aim is to not be shy of colour and create a surface busy with marks, that the viewers eye is fascinated by and can return to again and again to enjoy the qualities of the paint as well as the finished image.
