Biography
Tania Holland Biography and Brief C.V.
My arts practice has so far spanned 14 years over which, from education as a sculptor/painter, I have amassed a wide range of skills and experience ranging from drawing on the spot caricatures of celebrities such as David Bellamy, Johnny Ball, Paul Young and more, through to teaching and residencies and restoring the Queens ornate picture frames at Windsor.
Throughout, I have remained true to the persuit and development of my own work and personal style, the result of which can be viewed here.
In 2008 a geographical move created the opportunity for me to open my first gallery located in Shropshire, where I showcase my own work and aim to offer a supportive gallery space for like minded artists whos work compliments my own.
Primarily a sculptor at heart, I have striven to create a range of work that is completely my own, the like of which has not been seen before. The result is a growing range of strikingly contemporary animal sculptures, each with a bespoke finish and all linked by the use of witty wordplay that the viewer has to guess.
From an early stage, I have never been able to choose between the disciplines of sculpture and painting, finding many points along the way at which the two have crossed over. My current paintings have left behind the experimental and aim to achieve true "painterlyness".
